About the Teacher

I am a husband to an amazing wife who inspires me to be the best I can be, a father who is blessed to have two beautiful girls and a wonderful son, an educator trying to make a positive imprint on the lives of students, and an eternal student who is constantly learning so that I may improve all the previous roles. I was born and raised in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. Despite what some would regard as a curse, I am an avid Cleveland sports fan. Go Tribe! Go Browns! Go Cavs! I am a 1996 graduate of Eastlake North High School. Undecided on what I wanted to do with my life, I attended the University of Akron and began a nursing program. I knew I wanted to do something meaningful and help people. I soon realized nursing was not the way for me to do so. I felt a tug within me to pursue education. I graduated in December 2000 with a BA in Secondary Education and a certificate in Comprehensive Social Studies. I subbed and coached (basketball and baseball) in my home district until being offered a position with Chardon Local Schools in 2003. I have been faithfully serving that district since. I quickly pursued a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University and graduated in 2006. After participating in a 21st Century Skills grant with Cleveland State University, I realized quickly the future of education - technology. An eagerness to learn more effective means of integration of new technology into the classroom has shaped my professional development goals. I am currently looking for a Masters Educational Technology program.
